A Peeve !
Not a pet one, but a peeve nonetheless.
I use Yahoo! as my email provider. It is mainly a matter of convenience, as well as some sentimentality (I met my husband on Yahoo! poker and we communicated by Yahoo! email during our courtship). I have considered changing, mainly due to some political and ethical decisions that the good folks in San Carlos have made. (Have I mentioned that San Carlos is my hometown? More sentiment than you can shake a stick at, ladies and gents..)but change is not my favourite thing.
Anyway, Yahoo! has a handy toolbar, that gives you shortcuts to all your Yahoo! necessities. Among these is an alert notice to let you know you have email. There is also a separate button that takes you directly to mail. Now,my computer routine is really quite simple; I log on, I check my email first, then the WD, then blogs. I always use the mail symbol to log into my email, regardless of whether there is an alert or not.
But, if I don't click that alert, it just keeps alerting--even after I have checked (and read) all of my email. Seriously, how difficult would it be to make logging onto your email take the alert away? Not difficult at all, I say. Still, I can't be bothered to email Yahoo! and complain, so I guess I am SOL.
And how annoying is it that I used the "!" every single time I wrote Yahoo!?
In other news: I turned 50.

I know just what you are talking about. I check my email from the Yahoo homepage and I have to keep on top of my refreshing and clicking and crap to make sure it doesn't say I have messages when I don't and vice versa. So ridiculous.
Happy 50th!
